Professor WenwuYu from Department of Mathematics of SEU was selected to join the National Ten Thousand Talent Program for Young Top-notch Talents in 2014. The full title of Youth top-notch full is called as “Ten Thousand Talent Program for Young Top-notch Talents”. It is third level talents led by the Organization Department of the Central Committee of China. It is planned to select 200 young talents below 35 years of age. They have outstanding scientific research and technological innovation potential and important innovative prospects in scientific research work. By 2020, it plans to support about 2,000 outstanding young talents. The funding of Young Top-notch Talents is generally 1.2-2.4 million in the natural science, and 0.6 million in social science.
Recently, there have two batches of talents from the National Ten Thousand Talent Program for Young Top-notch Talents. 201 people including four people from SEU were selected into the first batch of this program in 2012. In 2015, it was announced that a total of 352 people were selected into the second batch of this program (Year 2014). There are 5 people from SEU in two batches of Young Top-notch Talents.Professor Wenwu Yu was selected into the second batch of Young Top-notch Talents. This implies that the cultivation and training of young teachers are valued by Department of Mathematics.
